Armed with absolutely NO PSI attacks, the Sound Stone, an ATM Card, a Cookie, and a PSI caramel, Ness almost beats Giygas at the beginning of Earthbound by himself. Hey, he beat Pokey... At the beginning of the game, I modified Ness' stats to make HP and PP 999, and all other stats 255 (they can't go over 255 since the game is 16-bit). Then I used the glitch/cheat to go to any room in the game. One minute, Pokey's a total wimp. The next, he's back in time possessed by Giygas and is heavily armed!!!!! Weird... Why couldn't I beat him? One, because I didn't have Paula (duh) and two, I couldn't grasp the true form of Giygas' attack. :( Btw, I fast-forwarded some when Ness was walking to Giyg...
